A Kiss Before Dying
This story is really spectacular, because tells the shocking tale of a charming, inteligent man who will stop at nothing, even kill, to get where he wants to go. His principal problem is a pregnant woman (Dorothy) that loves him and the only solution is kill her, to get his dreams of wealth.
The principal character's Bud Corliss, he was born in a low class family, growed together to his mom, but after he converted in a ambitious person, with an extraordinary ability to make love to the woman.
The secondary characters are the kingship family, conformed by three daughters (Dorothy, Ellen and Marion).
*Dorothy Kingship, Bud Corlis' the first victim, she is a rich and elegant woman.
*Ellen Kingship, is a inteligent woman, also she in love of Bud, she confronts him for the Dorothy's death and them kill her.
*Marion Kingship, is the last daughter, she was going away to marry with Bud, but in those moments discovered him all his deceits and lies.
In this novel we can find stocks like -- the love, the kidness, but on all the pardon, also we can see the death, panic, shame...
Author
Ira Levin was born in the new york city, in 1929, later of written the first novel A Kiss Before Dying in 1953, served in the United States Army Signal Corps until 1955.
He received awards like -- Mistery Writers of America Edgar Allan Poe, 1954-80 and Bram Stoker Award 1997.
